Does one truly realize that a church is more than just a building? The church is its people: The body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and we, the believers in Christ are the body. In Matthew 18:20 Jesus said “For where two or three gather in MY NAME, there am I with them.” Simply put, that is a church!! Does your church come together in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST?

Read 1Thessalonians 5:12-18. In verse 12 it says to “acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.” God has entrusted pastors and elders with responsibility & authority over proper instruction within the Body of Christ. A pastor’s authority comes ONLY FROM THE WORD OF GOD. Does that speak accurately of your pastor?

Verse 15 says “Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other & to everyone else.” In Matthew 5:44 Jesus said “But I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Romans 12:20 says “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”  We live in a society where we’re expected to be tolerant and loving of others’ sinful lifestyles and behaviors. BUT Ephesians 4:15 says “Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more & more like Christ, who is the head of His Body, the church.” Does your church speak this truth? At Liberty Christian Fellowship Christ and Christ alone is the cornerstone Click To Tweet

Verse 18 says “Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks IN all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Keeping your eyes on Jesus, focusing on the promises in God’s Word brings joy no matter what your circumstance. The Holy Spirit lives within the Christ follower. Keep your thoughts continuously on God throughout your day; realize He is always present within you to talk to anywhere anytime. Giving thanks IN your circumstance may be difficult but focus on your salvation – that one day you will be eternally with your Savior.

Are you in a Christ centered church? We have seen many churches go astray this century preaching false gospels, half truths, feel good sermons, or offering New Age music and nothing more. The disciple of Christ must be alert with full knowledge of the Bible and able to discern truth from falsehood. You are the church. You are God’s child. If you know you’re in a church that is “dead” or not accurately teaching God’s word, it’s time to leave that church! Find a solid Bible teaching church.

At Liberty Christian Fellowship Christ and Christ alone is the cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20 says “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the Chief Cornerstone.” Won’t you come & worship with us this Sunday & be liberated knowing Christ is the Cornerstone of Liberty Christian Fellowship?
