RADIO SHOW FOR MAY 19, 2017 – PERISHING – EXPLANATION OF NEWHEARTS

Welcome to the Newheart Commentary of the Lifting Us Up in Liberty Program.

The shelf life of food in our pantries is short-lived. There’s an expiration date on all food items. If not consumed by that date, the food will perish.  Our human bodies also have a term limit….it too will perish.  The dictionary definition  says to perish is to die or be destroyed.

God’s Holy Word has much to say about perishing. It begins in Genesis 6:17 when God said he was going to destroy all life under the heavens; “everything on earth will perish.” In Isaiah 1:28 it says “…..those who forsake the Lord  will perish.” Isaiah 60:12 says “For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.” Psalm 1:6 says “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous but the way of the wicked will perish.”

There are many, many more verses that tell of those who will perish. But there’s always good news, that is what the gospel means: Good News! This Newheart Commentary is from me – a sinner who was perishing but because of God’s grace, He  forgave me of all my sins and gave me a “New Heart”. Thus the Newheart name was birthed. It is my prayer that those who hear these messages will have Newhearts for God.

Maybe you’re stuck in a recurring sin. Perhaps it’s a sexual sin, or greed, selfishness, hatred, unforgiveness, lust, jealousy, pride, covetousness, habitual lies. All sin is dishonoring to God. But there is no sin that God won’t forgive.

John 3:16-17 says “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall NOT PERISH but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to SAVE the world through Him.”

In 1 Peter 1:3-4 it says “……In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an INHERITANCE  that can NEVER PERISH, SPOIL OR FADE – KEPT IN HEAVEN FOR YOU.”

Finally, in 2 Peter 3:9 it says “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Many see their lives falling apart in their families. We see our country spiraling out of control culturally, politically and spiritually. As just stated, God is patient but His patience will not last. God is also a God of wrath and the evil will be judged.

Let go and confess your sins to God today. Don’t hang on to them any longer. Don’t feel that you are unworthy of forgiveness.  Don’t feel that your sin is so deep that God won’t forgive you. That is a lie from the pit of hell. God is waiting for you, God wants to give you a New Heart. Won’t you join me and become a “Newheart” for God today? Newhearts give you freedom that lifts you up in liberty.
