Are we a people tossed to and from by every wind of tolerance, or do we clearly see and stand upon God’s truth?
Eph 4:14 says, “…we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
Today, political correctness is a crafty trick of “tolerance,” used by people in government and the media to toss us away from standing on God’s truth.
When you think of a prophet of God what comes to your mind: A) tolerance or B) truth?
According to Vines’ Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words” a prophet is one who “speaks forth of the mind and counsel of God.
All Old Testament prophets were assigned to politicians and government leaders. God sent Moses to Pharaoh. The book of Isaiah begins with how he prophesied through the reigns of 4 kings of Judah. Three Gospels record God sending John the Baptist to confront Herod about his sin. All political leaders see their countries worsen and their own salvations jeopardized when they fail to heed what God tells them through His prophets, who proclaim God’s word.
In Mark 8, Matt. 16 and Luke 12, Christ “cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Leaven in this sense is an agent that infiltrates God’s standard with what today we call “political correctness,” which communicates the policies the government promotes supersede the commands of God.
In the New Testament, we see that God raises up members of the Body of Christ to withstand the unrighteous tolerance that tricks believers into being led astray by gov’t to straying from God’s Word and accepting sin.
Ephesians 4:11-16 says (NAS) “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints …14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
Of all those ministries, one would think that true prophets of God would be those who stand firmly against how government intimidation is trying to force God’s church into tolerating the “political correctness,” that attempts to skew our perception of right and wrong. I wonder, where are the prophets who will stand against government abusing its power to step outside the role America’s Founding Fathers established for it in The Declaration of Independence, which says “government” is to cooperate with God by securing the inalienable rights He gives, “we the people.”
It is government craftiness that sells us sin as a “human right.” Abortion is sold as “women’s rights. Sexual promiscuity is sold as “sexual and gender rights.” Racism is supposed to be tolerated as “Some lives matter” which somehow will right past wrongs, rather than us being encouraged to walk in love and forgiveness, so we can move forward together.
Tolerance which disregards God’s standard for truth is the leaven that is leavening our society. Standing objectively on God’s truth by taking His word literally is how we help others see how we get lifted up in Liberty.
