Here’s why America’s Founders began signing The Declaration on Aug 2, 1776.

On July 4, they published The Declaration of Independence in newspapers throughout the colonies.

They did not sign it, however, and send it to King George, being reluctant to do so, as that would be a declaration of war, and who’d want to be hunted down by what at that time was the world’s most powerful military, which already was an occupying force throughout the colonies?

Samuel Adams (Sep 16, 1722 – Oct 2, 1803)
Father Of The American Revolution

To urge the revolutionaries foreword, on August 1, 1776 Samuel Adams delivered to America’s Founders his “American Independence” speech, which provides the philosophical background to The Declaration of Independence, which provides the philosophical background to the Bill of Rights, which will be codified in 1791!

From the steps of The Philadelphia State House, now known as “Independence Hall,” Adams boosted public morale with a unifying speech that rallied the Continental Congress by reminding them their struggle was an extension of the historic Reformation to be free to live out what the Bible says, in their personal lives, public institutions and civic governance! After Adams delivered “American Independence” to The Continental Congress they mobilized and the next day, August 2, 1776, the founders began signing the iconic parchment we revere and cherish today!

In paragraph three, Adams, put the War for Independence in the historical and spiritual perspective of The “Pro-Testament” Reformation, saying,

“Our forefathers threw off the yoke of popery [Roman Catholic, papal control] in religion: for you is reserved the honor of levelling the popery of politics. They opened the Bible to all, and maintained the capacity of every man to judge for himself in religion. … This day, I trust the reign of political Protestantism will commence.”

This Christian Nation Applied The Bible To All of Life & Civics
(We were not passively religiously tolerant)

Because Adams was right, and it was God moving to extend the Pro-Bible Reformation into politics, God supported the United States of America, just as He planted Israel in the promised land. Miracles from God’s Divine Hand of Grace brought both Israel and America into existence! Ecclesiastes 1:9 tells us “there is nothing new under the sun, and Hebrews 13:8 tells us “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” So, of course, God would seek to work through men to establish human governments that reflect how His will could be done on earth as it is in heaven, per Matthew 6:10. Some preachers have told me, “Jesus said, ‘My kingdom is not of this world,’ so he never would have established an earthly government.” I reply, “God gives us humans, earthly kingdoms, like He gave Israel one.

Other verses in Ecclesiastes reinforce this concept:

Ecclesiastes 3:15 (NLT) What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.

Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 (NLT) 9History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. 11We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.

God established America as a nation where we were free to live under His Ten Commandments rights. (These are explained here: https://libertycf.org/resources-2). Our laws were designed to protect our rights to not be murdered, sexually molested and stolen from, and they secured our freedom to practice Biblical Christianity, privately and publicly which is why so many of our historical buildings and monuments have Bible verses and symbols carved into them. We also traditionally have prayed Christian prayers at sporting and civic events. This started when The Mayflower Providentially was storm blown 500 miles off

course, so they entered this Promised Land in Plymouth, MA, instead of in Jamestown, Virginia. Having expanded into the land, America’s Revolutionary War generation defeated England which was trying to keep them in popery’s “superstition” (as Adams explained later in the speech) and economic bondage. Having won the freedom to apply the Bible to civics, the following generations conquered pagan natives, like Israel was supposed to conquer the pagan Canaanites and Philistines.

Both America and Israel Have Denied God’s Hand In Their Foundings

Today in America we are re-living Judges 2:10. We have forgotten our founders — our Moses’s, Joshua’s and Caleb’s, and what God has done to give us His Way of Life in this land. I believe God is using our This Liberty Christian Fellowship (LCF), “Biblical Basis of The Bill of Rights” (3BR) movement to again call us to honor what He has done, and have Him lead us to retake and restore what He gave US (pun intended).

Our challenge is we have played “501(c)(3) church” that puts God’s gospel and discipleship in a box labeled “Do Not Apply His Word To The Affairs Of State.” This has left US (pun intended) confused about how to apply the Bible to the way we are governed. My goal is for us to break forth into a revived Reformation that reestablishes what God has done through His Historical Body Of Christ of America’s Founders!

Let’s Stop, Drop & Roll Back To God and Our Nation’s Founding

This LCF-3BR Reformation reconnects to what God has done in the past to spark anew what we hope God will do again! The challenge with revivals is the seed falls on all four types of soil (Matt 13:3-9 and Luke 8:4-8). Thus today, our so-called conservative cable media elevates Catholicism to draw people into its unbiblical, superstitious beliefs and practices, such as praying to Mary and saints, which violates Ten Commandments one and two. Though it calls itself a “Christian religion” it omits commandment two and instead arrives at ten by splitting “do not covet” into two parts: 9) do not covet your neighbors’ spouse and 10) do not covet your neighbors’ belongings. Honest brokers of God’s Word will not omit text from the middle of a passage, such as what is identified as commandment two, to support their church doctrine. Enemies of Biblical Scripture ultimately are enemies of our Bible-based Christian Republic, which is based on it.

The solution is as simple as the Reformation’s cry for “O’Sola Scriptura.” We the-people who are called by God’s name must seek Him as He reveals Himself

in His Word. By starting today, we once again can plant the seed that will grow in the Spirit of the August 2, 1776 “American Independence” speech!
