(1) Walk Thru The Word: Romans 8: 28—30  (ESV) God Works All Things Together for The Good of Our Salvation & His Purposes

28And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose. 29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

(3) Walk Thru The Word: Romans 8: 35—39  (ESV) We Wont Be Separated from Being More than Conquerors

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

36As it is written,“For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,

39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Book of Romans: Session 13

God Conforms Us Through The Spirit To Work All Things Together for Good

5) Rom 8: 28 (ESV) God Works All Things Together for The Good of Our Salvation & Spiritual Growth & Purposes In Him

In Rom 8:26 28And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,h for those who are called according to his purpose.

GOOD =    1) what originates from God and is empowered by Him in our lives, through faith whether it be seen to be so, or not!  2) what is profitable for keeping His commandments.

So though we may not understand it, it’s working that way for us.

The condition for which God works all things for good includes:

  1. we must love (take pleasure in, long for & actively do what the Lord prefers in fulfillment of The Greatest Commandment = Deut. 6:5 & Matt 22: 36-38)
  1. respond to & receive His call = respond to God’s invitation to salvation, and receive an office of service.
  1. participate in His purposes = providence, “a setting forth in advance for a specific purpose. It literally means to participate in God’s pre-written or prescribed thesis for our live.

(6) Rom 8: 38-39  Nothing Can Separate Us from The Benefits of Our Salvation

The reason God says that angels (spirit being God created) nor rulers nor powers can separate us is because that is exactly what attacks us to convince us to put faith in something else other than Rom 8:38-39 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,

39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Angles who will try to separate us from responding appropriately to God’s love = Certain of the angels have proved faithless to the trust committed to them by God, and have given themselves up to sin,

Ps. 8:5 5Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,

In Jude 1:6 we see certain “angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—

In 2 Peter 2:4 2Pe 2:4  For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;

In Genesis 6:2, Gen 6:2  the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.

In Mat 25:41  “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

In Revelation 12:7, Rev 12:7  Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back,

Rev 12:8  but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.

Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. [bctt tweet=”Some try to say Christianity was started from the angel Gabriel who brought the message to Mary, Joseph and the shepherd’s in the field. Rev 12:10  And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

Rev 12:11  And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.

In 1 Corinthians 6:3 —  Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!

Fallen Angels who serve Satan want to deceive us so we worship Satan and not God.  The Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormonism, Islam.

The whole New Age movement receives their information from Spirit guides through channeling and automatic writing. The psychics also receive their impressions by familiar spirits who would be identified as fallen angels.

Some try to say Christianity was started from the angel Gabriel who brought the message to Mary, Joseph and the shepherd’s in the field. However, none of God’s true messenger angels told people to write down Scriptures.  The inspirational writing of Scriptures comes directly from God-The-Holy Spirit, Who centers people upon Christ Who is The Bible’s central message.

John 15:26  NLT – “But I will send you the Advocate–the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.

NIV — “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father–the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father–he will testify about me.

NLT — “But I will send you the Advocate–the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.

ESV — “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.

NAS —  “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,

KJB — But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

The important thing to remember is the content of the Bible does not come from angels!

(7) The Doctrine of Demons – The Pattern of Angelic apostasies

1 Tim 4;1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, (evil fallen angels, cast out of heaven with Satan/Lucifer who deceive people causing them to wander from faith in God through Christ)

Demonic Doctrinal Patterns include:

The Doctrine of Demons – The Pattern of Angelic apostasies

1 Tim 4;1 — Demonic Doctrinal Patterns include: Gal. 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!

(9) Rom 8: 29–30 We Are Predestined to be Conformed to the Image of Christ

29For those whom he foreknew (to know beforehand) he also predestined (foreordained and marked out beforehand) to be conformed (made into the same essential nature ) to the image (likeness) of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

God foreknows and predestines us because of which of His following attributes?

  1. He wrote the Bible including Revelation
  2. He is omniscient = knows everything from the beginning to the after
  3. He is omnipresent = everywhere all the time
  4. He exists pre-Genesis and post revelation

Keep in mind, we must read the Bible keeping in view the character and nature of God who wrote it.  We should not interpret the Bible based upon our own limited, human, finite experience!

30And those whom he predestined he also called (summoned/invited), and those whom he called he also justified, (imputed righteousness through Christ) and those whom he justified he also glorified. (rendered and esteemed completely accepted by God)

(10) Rom 8: 3334 Christ Spared Nothing To Save Us from All Charges That Condemned Us

31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is to condemn? (Rom 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus?”)

Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding (making petition and suitable supplication) for us.

(11) The process of Rom 8:28-39 is paralleled in 2 cor. 4: 1-18

2 Cor. 4: 1-6 ESV  (Christian Ministry Clearly Reveals Christ)

1Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. 2But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

(12) The process of Rom 8:28-39 is paralleled in 2 cor. 4: 1-18

2 Cor. 4: 7-12  ESV —  (God’s Immutable and Indestructible Treasure is in Our Jars of Clay in which God Works All Things Together for Good, So we are frail but flourishing!)

7But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12So death is at work in

(13) The process of Rom 8:28-39 is paralleled in 2 cor. 4: 1-18

2 Cor. 4: 13-18  ESV —  The Holy Spirit Compels Evangelism & 20/20 Eternal Vision

ESV — 13Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

16So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

(14) Rom 8: 3539 We Are Boundlessly Conquering Overcomers

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

36As it is written,“For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerers (prevail mightily to be completely and overwhelmingly victorious”) through him who loved us.

38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,

39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us (put us apart; cause us to depart or withdraw) from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does it mean to be used as God as a conquerer?

Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

NIV = being certain of this  …  NLT = I am certain that God

NAS = For I am confident … KJV = Being confident

Acts 20:24 But I consider my life of no value to myself, if only I may finish my course and complete the ministry I have received from the Lord Jesus–the ministry of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

1 Corinthians 4:9 For it seems to me that God has displayed us apostles at the end of the procession, like prisoners appointed for death. We have become a spectacle to the whole world, to angels as well as to men.

1 Corinthians 15:30 And why do we endanger ourselves every hour?

1 Corinthians 15:31I face death every day, brothers, as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 1:9 Indeed, we felt we were under the sentence of death, in order that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God, who raises the dead.

2 Corinthians 4:10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

2 Corinthians 6:9 as unknown, yet well-known; dying, and yet we live on; punished, yet not killed;

2 Corinthians 11:23 Are they servants of Christ? I am speaking like I am out of my mind, but I am so much more: in harder labor, in more imprisonments, in worse beatings, in frequent danger of death.

Philippians 3:10 I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death,

(17) Let’s Pray that God ReAwakens, ReInvigorates & ReEstablishes Us in Our Calls In Christ!

Let’s Pray:

Lord, God, we thank you for continuing Your good work in us and bringing it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.  [email-download-link namefield=”YES” id=”333″]
