The World tends to teach that wisdom is mystical, hidden and unknowable; whereas the Bible teaches that God makes wisdom known and readily available to those who submit to Him. Prov. 1:20 says (NAS) “Wisdom shouts in the street, She lifts her voice in the square.” Prov 8:1, says “Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?”
By contrast, here is a statement I read from a Buddhist Yoga practitioner and blogger:
“Wisdom cannot be imparted. … Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.” She goes on to double-speak to say… “Wisdom is timeless. It can only be arrived at with discernment and the development of our consciousness to a level that understands paradox and true freedom. Knowledge simply binds us to erroneous, concrete beliefs, making it nearly impossible to understand the truth of the Universe. Wisdom, however, discloses Truth in ways that cannot even be explained with a thousand books, a million teachings from religious figures, or a hundred million facts memorized and assimilated. Wisdom is so pure, that even language corrupts it.”
This philosophy that “Knowledge simply binds us to erroneous, concrete beliefs, making it nearly impossible to understand the truth of the Universe” is running rampant through the American education system. Here’s an example. Not long ago, I was speaking with an educational consultant who said, “I want children to challenge that 2+2=4, because I want them to think outside the box.” [bctt tweet=”Rom 12: 2, (NAS) says ”And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” username=”LibertyCF3″]
I advised that trying to get children to challenge that 2+2=4 is irrational, because 2+2 does = 4, and getting kids to believe it can mean something else is “professing yourself to be wise, but instead you have become a fool, as Romans 1: 21-22 says. All civil, mechanical, and computer engineering, and all architecture and science is consistent with 2+2=4. It is how the God created things to be. Everything Albert Einstein discovered in the “Theory of Relativity” was based upon sound mathematical principles and equations.
In my “Three-Dimensional Leader” book and training programs, I teach ‘Knowledge is “know-how” and Wisdom is the application of that knowledge. Despite what clever sounding eastern religions say, all true wisdom is consistent with the concrete knowledge of how things actually function. Einstein did not invent any of the elements of E=MC2. Matter and the speed of light were already present. Einstein brilliantly saw what was present in the context of the concrete reality, and saw how those elements were related to each other to form energy. He thought out of the box within the reality of 2+2=4. Otherwise his equations would not have added up.
Rom 12: 2, (NAS) says ”And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” In Biblical Christianity, wisdom is based upon knowing a personal God, and learning from Him. This wisdom is practical as it is reflective of the way the rational Creator made the rational universe. Getting connected to that rationale is what sets us free from incoherent philosophies that enslave us in clever sounding superstitions. Walking in God’s wisdom is what lifts us up in liberty.
