Do you ever wonder if political correctness and tolerance is a crafty trick that Eph 4:14 warns us will stunt our spiritual growth and keep us “children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.”
Mark 8, Matt. 16 and Luke 12 tell us the leaven of political correctness and tolerance will come from government and the church officials in cahoots with it who compromise God’s word. In those chapters, “Christ “cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
Leaven is that which infiltrates God’s standard with “political correctness. It pressures us to tolerate the sinful policies that government promotes.
Tolerance of political correctness communicates there should be no Godly standard of right or wrong applied when someone in public office sins. We are to accept without discernment how media pundits never discuss the behavior in terms of how God’s 10 Commandments define right and wrong, and are being broken. Instead if someone lies or steals people in the media discuss how people on the other side also are doing it. Do we really believe that God’s standard is “Since everyone does it, it is okay? Is that the low level of morality the standard we believe God has for our beloved USA?
God says, in Rom 6:23 “The wages of sin is death” which by-the-way is a rather intolerant statement, as part of His call for us to repent and abandon our sinful ways. Tolerance and political correctness do not supersede nor take precedence over the commands of God. As people who say we love God the most, with all our heart, souls and minds, per the Greatest Commandment explained by Jesus in Matt 22: 37-38, we should not be letting “political correctness,” cause us to skew our perception to tolerate what God calls right and wrong. Tolerance of government sponsored sinful practices is what curses our beloved USA.
In Mark 8, Matt. 16 and Luke 12, Christ “cautions saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Leaven in this sense is an agent that infiltrates God’s standard with what today we call “political correctness,” which communicates the policies the government promotes supersede the commands of God.
The government intimidation of “political correctness,” not so subtlety threatens us not to stand on God’s Word and adhere to God’s standard.
1 Corinthians 10: 3-5 says, “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”
What is leavening both the church and the society the church is supposed to love and care for is the tolerance of political correctness that disregards God’s standard for “The truth that sets us free. Failing to stand on God’s objective truth is entrapping our society in lies. Repenting and reversing this trend to apply God’s literal Word to the problems of man is how we get lifted up in Liberty.
