Breaking News! News stations say it all day every day. We’ve Become accustomed to hearing it frequently. It’s typically old news but it’s an attention getter so the listener will tune in. Frankly to me, it’s like crying wolf when there is no wolf. After a time, you don’t pay attention anymore. But when the real news does happen or the real wolf is attacking, the listener may not be tuned in. It may be too late!
Our amazing God has handed mankind breaking news for centuries upon centuries. It’s His Holy Word. It’s alive all day every day. It’s loaded with truth. It’s loaded with promises. It’s loaded with answers to all of life’s questions and dilemmas. It’s available to every heart that will receive the message. The message takes no commercial breaks. The message is clear to the listener who receives it. It’s the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ….the message of TRUTH.

In John 18:37 Jesus said “I CAME INTO THE WORLD TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH. EVERYONE ON THE SIDE OF TRUTH LISTENS TO ME.” John 1: 17 says “….grace & truth came through Jesus Christ.” In John 14:6 Jesus said “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus said in John 14:16-17 “….I will ask The Father and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him because it neither sees Him nor knows Him for He lives with you and will be in you.”
The breaking news of the day is disheartening. The ways of the world are gaining traction in government, schools, culture, churches and home. Isaiah 59: 14 & 15 says “….truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter…..Truth is nowhere to be found, & whoever shuns evil becomes prey…..” But our Holy God is in full control of the ways of the world, the flesh and the devil. Jesus said in John 8:44 “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
We, the Body of Christ, are to be the bearers of truth telling. We are to be the “breaking news-truth-tellers” of the day. Our good news is “breaking news” to the unsaved. Second Timothy 2:24-25 says “And the Lord’s serv
ant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.”
God is the Fountainhead of Truth. That is what we stand for at Liberty Christian Fellowship. To be Disciples of Christ Jesus and share the gospel message completely and truthfully which will lift everyone up in liberty.
