RADIO SHOW FOR MAY 26, 2017- Memorial Weekend

Welcome to the Newheart Commentary of the Lifting Us Up in Liberty Program

Remembering past history is a good thing. Whether the past brought good or bad, it’s important to remember so that one can learn from the past.  In Genesis 9:13-16, God set His rainbow in the clouds to be the sign of His covenant to REMEMBER His everlasting covenant between God and all life on the earth.

In Deuteronomy 5:15 it says “REMEMBER  that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand….”

In Hebrews 8:12 it says “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

To summarize these 3 verses then, as Christians, we REMEMBER God’s covenant with us, we REMEMBER God leading the people of Israel to the promised land, and we REMEMBER God forgives our sins.

We remember & recognize many special occasions in our country. Memorial Day celebrations begin this weekend across America. We now take time to REMEMBER those who have died fighting to keep the freedoms that God gave us and blessed the USA with years ago.

We remember you our fallen hero. We remember your sacrifices. We remember your loved ones left behind. We remember as we proudly fly our flag. We remember as we visit the graves and place flowers & flags at your resting place. We remember as we salute our veterans marching in the parade in your honor.  We remember because we love this country and what you did to keep us free. We remember so we can pass our history of freedom to our children and grandchildren. We remember because we love you and don’t ever want to forget what Memorial Day means to us as a nation. We remember and we pray for our nation and the survivors of wars. We pray for those injured in the line of duty as well. We pray for the loved ones who grieve the loss of their soldier.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of America. Thank you for the soldiers who fought in wars to keep us free from tyranny.  We ask that you comfort those grieving due to the loss of their soldier. We ask that our nation turn from their sin and seek you Oh Lord.  We pray that hearts will be softened and eyes will be opened and know that you are the God of liberty and freedom. Restore our nation Oh Lord we pray. Restore us to what made us great years ago because we put you first. Restore our government leaders to do what is right in your eyes oh God. Reform those who have gone astray. Reform families to reunite and love each other. Reform the church to lead Godly lives. Reform pastors who are misguiding the flock. Thank you Lord that you will make us a 2nd Chronicles 7:14 nation; that we will turn from our wicked ways and you will heal our land. Thank you for Jesus Christ in His Mighty name we pray. Amen
