Christmas is just days away….after looking at the hope and wonder of Christmas, let’s look at the Peace and Joy of Christmas. Jesus says in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor let it be afraid.” Perhaps it seems foolish & unbelievable to have peace. After all, life is full of problems, difficulties and sadness. There is absence of personal, family, national and worldly peace. The world is unable to find it.

But there is a peace that comes only from God. Note the verse says “I give to you….” This is a GIFT to His followers that Jesus is offering them right before His crucifixion…the kind of peace which will put an end to their troubled heart. It’s the peace that belongs only to those who are in Christ. Romans 5:1 says “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jesus made peace by taking our punishment in full on the cross so that we can NOW have peace with God forever.  Are you celebrating this Christmas season as a saved Christian through Christ Jesus? Are you knowing the God of Peace that transcends all understanding? Or are you uncertain of your salvation? Are you hoping in the world’s solution to… Click To Tweet

Romans 15:13 says “Now may the God of HOPE fill you with ALL JOY and PEACE in believing, so that you may abound in HOPE.” Romans 14:17 says “The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking; the kingdom of God is righteousness and PEACE and JOY in the HOLY SPIRIT.” It’s inseparable, if you’re at peace, you’re in joy for those in Christ Jesus. Second Thessalonians 3:16 says “Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all.” Our source of peace is God. It belongs to Christ. It’s supernatural.

One of the fruits of the spirit is peace. Galatians 5:22 says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, PEACE, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control….”

Are you celebrating this Christmas season as a saved Christian through Christ Jesus? Are you knowing the God of Peace that transcends all understanding?  Or are you uncertain of your salvation? Are you hoping in the world’s solution to peace? All signed peace treaties have failed. The troubled world cries out in the streets “peace now” but they are destroying the cities at the same time. Isaiah 48:22 & 57:21 says “There is no peace for the wicked.” Jeremiah 6:14 says “…..Peace, peace, they say, when there is no peace.”

This Christmas season, put your trust in Jesus Christ, your hope in Jesus Christ. Confess Him as your Lord & Savior. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. It is with your mouth that you confess & are saved. Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame. Now that is true joy that will liberate you forever. Come to LCF this Sunday and be liberated as we keep our focus on the one and only way to Heaven, Jesus Christ.
