The 16th anniversary of the worst disaster on America’s mainland has recently passed. Most listeners remember that day like it was yesterday. Many rushed to their churches and prayed. We witnessed Congress singing God Bless America. People were standing in the streets collecting money for victim’s families. People were giving blood. American flags were waving from homes and car windows….Many businesses were sold out of flags…..they were on back order.
It was a sad time. But it was a time of great American patriotic spirit. It was a time when people reconnected with God, their families, their neighbors, even strangers. Churches opened for prayer. American’s shined.
But this period was short lived. People went back to the normalcy of their lives. American flags don’t fly in such abundance commemorating this anniversary or most American holidays. Politicians went back to bickering. The rush to church was over.
Sixteen years later we see our families, our country, our schools and even churches falling into the sin of relativism. Some churches have embraced the sinful culture of homosexuality. They rationalize that it’s about diversity and love. Seems these churches love love rather than love the Word of God.
Church attendance is down. Only a small percentage of church goers attend on a weekly basis. Where has the enthusiasm gone? Where has our love for God gone? There’s enough blame to go around for certain. Some Preachers are preaching the gospel of “Thou shalt not offend anyone” or “Thou shalt have prosperity” or “Thou shalt have inclusiveness”. What is that anyway? There’s no truth there. The Bible is truth. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10 says “There is no one righteous, not even one.” Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” If your preacher isn’t preaching this gospel of truth, it’s time to get out!
The fault also lies within the church itself. Some are unmotivated to find a solid Bible teaching church. Sleeping in or exercising at the gym takes priority on Sunday morning. Unopened Bibles sit on shelves at home. Or maybe some don’t own one. Passivity feeds Satan’s schemes to destroy….the church is feeding right into it. Lack of discernment on what some Pastors are teaching has led many attendee into accepting a false gospel.

Our church exists to tell the truth, share the truth and be the disciple that Jesus commanded His followers to be. Our pastor is a gifted preacher that will capture your heart’s desire to read the Bible and return each week for more of God’s absolute truth. This is always liberating to old & new hearers of the Word. Why not join us this Sunday? [email-download-link namefield=”YES” id=”126″]
