I will continue on the state of the church in the 21st century. Last week, I emphasized the importance of discernment as a Christ follower….able to separate the wise from the foolish. If you don’t read the Bible or attend a solid Bible teaching church, you will be led astray. A few years ago I visited a relative in another state and attended her church with her. As we waited for service to begin, she pointed out to me the ushers and those in the choir and whose spouse was whose. I asked where the pastor’s wife was and she said “HE” pastors at a church on the other side of town. A vibrant discussion later took place on how could my relative attend a church where the pastor lives a homosexual life style and still preach from the Word of God? Read all of Romans Chapter 1… (Note)…Verse 25 says “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie…” (Note)…Verse 32 says “….they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
First Timothy 4:1-2 says “The spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” Second Timothy 4:3-4 says “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
It’s important to study and know the Bible. It will save you and your family from any uncertainty in this growing anti-god culture. Dear church, when you know the truth and quote from Scripture, victory is God’s and ours!! This culture is obsessed with sexual immorality: Adultery, fornication, homosexuality, pornography and more. These are leading souls on the road to eternal damnation. If your church finds inclusivity in anyone of these sins, you’re in Satan’s church! If you’re in a church where your sin isn’t offensive, you’re in Satan’s church! Your sin needs to be convicting!
I urge you as the Body of Christ, as Born again believers in Jesus Christ, to live your life pleasing to God. First Thessalonians 4:3-4 says “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified; you should avoid sexual immorality; ….to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable.” Verse 7 says “For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.”
If you or someone you know attends a church where the preaching is passive and untruthful, it’s time to leave that church. Ask God for discernment. Our church exists to be that beacon of truth to Christ followers….it is freeing, refreshing and liberating to hear God’s Holy Word preached for all to understand God’s truth one verse at a time….lifting us all up in liberty.
