We Need A Reformation That Proclaims Christ’s Name and Applies How He Reveals Himself in The Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and teaches us to dedicate our lives as disciples of Christ, who overcome the lie of “separation of church and state” so we apply Biblical principles to every aspect of life, including religion, civic life and politics.
2 Chron 7:14, says “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Through 2 Chron 7:14, God says, if we do 4 things, He’ll do 3. The 1st of the 4 things is we must “humble ourselves.” The 2nd of the 4 things we must do “if we want to be people who are called by His name is “Pray” — as the Bible instructs us to pray. God’s human, incarnated name is “Jesus Christ” How many religions in America claim to be called by God’s name, yet which teach us to pray in names other than “in Jesus name.” Jesus says in John 14: 13-14 and in John 16: 23-24 that “If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” Have we considered that God has not healed our land, because too many of us are praying in something other than in “Jesus’ name”?
To Pray means to speak to God & let God speak to us. In Matt 6: 7 Jesus says “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases or “vain repetitions” thinking we’ll be heard because we say the same words over and over.” According to 2 Chron 7:14, IF we don’t meet God on His terms, THEN we do not get 1) a hearing with God; 2) we don’t get forgiveness and 3) we don’t get our land healed. There are significant consequences IF we think we can come to God on OUR terms or on our church’s terms rather than on what God has actually said in His Word.
We each need to participate in a personal Reformation that repents of unbiblical practices, regardless what our past religious traditions have taught us. We need not only to pray in the name of Jesus Christ as the Bible instructs us, we also need to pray and participate in all the activities the Bible reveals is of concern to God for us.
The Bible shows God sending His Old Testament prophets to address kings and rulers of state. God sent Moses to Pharaoh. In 1 Kings 22, God has Micaiah prophesy that Ahab will die. The book of Isaiah begins with how he prophesied to three government administrations about what God’s Will is for them. Three Gospels record God sending John The Baptist to Herod, These messengers all heard from God through their prayer lives – none of which involved the false notion, of “separation of church and state.”
The prayer reformation we need today must include a clear connection of the dots so we pray effectively in Jesus’ name, so God will hear from Heaven forgive our sin and heal our land. Those are the prayers that will Lift Us Up In Liberty.
