(1) Walk Thru The Word:   Romans 10: 5x  (ESV)

5F or Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. 6But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7“or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

(3) Rom 10: 6 — We Cant Ascend Into Heaven On Our Own Ability to Keep Gods Law

No one can Ascend Into Heaven On The Apparatus of Our Own Works of Righteousness

Romans 10:6 tells us that if we are living by trusting in the righteousness that is by  faith, we are not to say ‘Who will ascend (I go up, mount, rise, spring up,) into heaven?'” (that is, to bring Christ down – from His position as seated and raised with God in the Heavenliness )

into heaven?'” (that is, to bring Christ down) from the position of His Heavenly seat, and put Him on par with others whom we think can do what only Christ did and be only where Christ is. (Eph 1:20, Eph 2:6 & Col 3:1)

Ephesians 1:20 [God exerted His mighty power] that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, [bctt tweet=”As Mary received the Savior, so too must we all.  As Christ was born in her womb, Christ must be born again in each of us!” username=”LibertyCF3″]

Colossians 3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

This Righteousness =

  1. of which God is the source or author, and
  2. it is a practical divine righteousness that properly meets judicial approval.

So, to paraphrase: “If we want to live practically within God’s judicial approval of righteousness, we have to rely upon His righteousness that comes by faith.  AND … we cannot rely upon how much or how little we keep God’s law.  Relying upon our own abilities is like thinking we can one of two things:

To “Ascend” is  negative term for aggressive self-effort in opposition to Gods prescribed will.  In Isaiah 14:13 Satan attempted to ascend and exalt himself above God.

Satan said I will ascend….

In Isaiah 14:13 Satan attempted to “ascend and exalt himself above God.

In Isaiah 14:13 God says of Satan, “For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation.”

To believe we have the ability to ascend “brings down” and degrades Christ’s deity and His sacrificial work on the Cross, as the singular means by which we can be saved.

Ascending into Heaven & Digging Into Hell- NOT!

‘Who will ascend into heaven?'” (that is, to bring Christ down) …

Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?'” (that is, to bring Christ down

(4) Rom 10: 7 Christ is the Resurrection & Life Who Frees Spirits from the Abyss

Rom 10: 7  7“or ‘Who will descend (come from the sky or a higher land) into the abyss? (unfathomable depth, an especially Jewish conception, the home of the dead and of evil spirits.)’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

KJV = Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.

God is warning us to not …

ascribe to ourselves or another the divine position and attributes reserved for the incarnate Christ

imagine that one can come from the realm of the dead, over which God alone has authority

encroach upon the resurrection by insinuating anyone or anything else has any power to effect life after death or death after death. Noah Webster’s God is warning us to not …

John 11:25 I am The resurrection and the life Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.

(5) Walk Thru The Word:

Romans 10: 6-7 & Deuteronomy 30: 11-20

Romans 10:7 Quotes from Deuteronomy 30: 11-20  where Moses is saying do not go thinking that one of you can ascend to Heaven and bring God’s truth to you.  Nor should you say, you can travel across

The Choice of Life and Death

11“For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. 12It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.

15“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. 16If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 17But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other Gods and serve them, 18I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

(6) Rom 10:8-9  Belief In Christ Provides Justification by Faith

Rom 10:8  8But what does it say? “The word (the word of faith that we proclaim) is near (in place & time) you, in your mouth and in your heart”; 9because, if you confess (agree, publicly declare, in full agreement; to align with, to endorse) with your mouth (as a spoken testimony) that Jesus is lord (exercises absolute ownership rights of our lives) and believe in your heart (the affective center of our being” and the capacity of moral preference (volitional desire, choice; “desire-producer that makes us tick) that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (healed, preserved, rescued from the penalty and power of sin, and from destruction and brought into divine safety)

(7) 1 Pet 3:1822  Christ Alone Came Down, Died, Descended & Rose!

1 Pet 3:18-22  — 18For Christ also suffered once (one time of perpetual validity, so it not need to be repeated again) for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he (Christ) might bring us to God (rendered us acceptable to God, assured of his grace), being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19in which he went and proclaimed (preached the Gospel as the authoritative (binding) word of God, bringing eternal accountability to all who hear it.) to the spirits in prison, (those confined and under a guarding)

20because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

21Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, (have earnestly sought a conscience reconciled to God) through the resurrection (bodily raised from the dead) of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected (ranked under and submitted) to him.

Spirits in prison =   the spirit,=

(8) Walk Thru The Word:   Luke 1: 26-33

The Angel Gabriel Announces The Virgin Birth

26In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary. 28And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”c 29But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

(9) Walk Thru The Word:   Luke 1: 34- 38

The Virgin Incarnation

34And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” d  35And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, the child to be borne will be called holy—the Son of God. 36And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Let’s skip down to verses 46-47

46And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

As Mary received the Savior, so too must we all.  As Christ was born in her womb, Christ must be born again in each of us!

(10) Walk Thru The Word:   Matt 4: 15-17

The Kingdom of God Is Near At Hand

13And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

15“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” 17From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Darkness =  ignorance of divine things, and its associated wickedness, and the resultant misery!

Light = the manifestation of God’s self-existent life; divine illumination to reveal and impart life, through Christ.

(11) Let’s Pray that God ReAwakens, ReInvigorates & ReEstablishes Us in Our Calls In Christ!

Let’s Pray:

God remove the veil of ignorance and the blinders that so many have, whom are subscribing to a religious system of rituals and works that lead us away from pure faith, that trusts You and You alone to accomplish Your work of salvation in us, through the amazing atoning Work of Christ on the Cross.  [email-download-link namefield=”YES” id=”340″]
