Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” To raise children properly, one needs to know “what is the way a child shall go? Once we are clear on what that way is, we know what attitudes, actions and behaviors direct children into it.
In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” So by directing children to know Jesus, as He reveals Himself in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, we direct them into the way they should go. Job 12:13 says “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are His.
Jesus mandated that children know He is the Way. In Mk. 10:13-14, when “People were preventing children to come to Him, Jesus … was indignant, and said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.
”When people in government ban the Bible, which used to be read in our public schools, they are forbidding the children to come to Christ. Just because the Bible can be read at home and in the churches, does not mean it should be banned from public places. Deuteronomy. 4:9 says, “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
When people in government, educational, legal and religious systems cite “separation of church and state” as a reason to not do what the Bible says, several negative outcomes occur from forbidding the children to come to Christ:
- We communicate to young people the Bible is not relevant to every aspect of their lives. Young people lack a clear vision how to apply God’s truth to every situation.
- The next generation, who will run our gov’t, is without a spiritual and moral rudder, and is left believing wrong is right, and right is wrong.
- Without a foundation in how Biblical truth applies to civic affairs, we become victims of the conniving people who have a 10 Precepts value system that is the opposite of the 10 Commandments. We are suckered into believing that violations of the 10 Commandments are right.
- Without analyzing public policy in relation to Biblical truth, many can’t discern when government promotes policies that break God’s laws. We can’t analyze the outcomes of positive sounding policies that are promoted in the name of human rights that abuse and deny rights to pre-born children, and which deny public school children access to God’s plan for their lives by confusing their sexuality.
In John 10: 9-11 Jesus says He is the door to life abundantly. … The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Denying America’s public school children access to Biblical truth is purposely withholding vital information, which is an act of lying. By exposing young people to Jesus the good shepherd, they get lifted up in Liberty.
