The WNBA’s DEI Double Standard

Djonai Carrington clotheslines Sophie Cunningham and is ejected, and immediately types “White Privilege,” giving us her viewpoint and perspective is …
a) She did no wrong.

b) She is being persecuted for the systemic way people of her skin color are treated.

c) Her victim got to stay on the court and continue to play because of the league’s and world’s systemic behavior favoring the color of her skin.

Sophie and Caitlin Clark repeatedly are assaulted on the court, fouled time and again without the referees calling penalties against their abusers. Ghost fouls are called on them, which on replay is readily apparent to even casual observers they have not touched an opposing player.

Fever Coach, Stephanie White, never rushes out onto the court to defend her players. When asked at press conferences to comment on these incidents, Stephanie White praises the opposing player perpetrators for their hard playing and giving it their all on the court.

Most of the perpetrators doing the attacking and fouling, the referees who fail to call them, and the coaches on both sides of the court who fail to try to stop the abuse are destroying the competitive nature of the game. Combine that with at least one owner verbally assaulting two teenage fans for thanking Sophie Cunningham for standing up for girls, and we are witnessing the logical conclusions of living life by illogical DEI standards.

Those standards are a lens that obscures the game of basketball, overshadowing it with philosophical fabrications that blur the realities of the differences between males and females! Those standards also expect us to believe that sexual preferences is what makes the game of basketball what it is.

They are wrong!

We come to basketball games to see people dribble, shoot and score. We do not attend and view to celebrate behaviors that are best manifested behind closed doors, in the privacy of private homes and hotel rooms! Believing otherwise is the result of seeing life and the game of basketballs through the blurred and dull vision of DEI. Though the useless gender studies classes one attends in college and universities are designed to make one believe otherwise, in the real world, what is most important is how we love our neighbor as ourselves. What leads us astray are the caricatures people are encouraged to become by elevating skin color and sexual choices above the moral character that results from whether or not we treat each other according to the Ten Commandments,

DEI Doesn’t Distract Most of America

Carrington sees life through the woke shallow slogans of DEI. This soft-minded thinking leads her to not see the reality of her crime, but only that she is one color and the one she assaulted does not deserve to be protected because she is another. Most Americans have moved on far past the shallow restrictions of racial compartmentalizations — especially when it comes to sports. We just want to see skilled people play the game. We don’t care what color or sexual orientation the players are.

Skin color and sexual orientation, however, are the transcendent values of importance to the WNBA “DEI dunsters” who don’t understand why true fans of the GAME spend their time to travel to and pay for a seat at events. Most people are fans of skill, and exceptional talents that put people on the playing floor. When we see it we exclaim…

“Now that’s why I come to see basketball!”

The DEI dopesters who seem to make up the milieu of the WNBA, only see people as caricatures, who fit into boxes they are focused on checking. These boxes include pigeon-holing people by race, sexual orientation and the fantasy of sexual declaration. They live their lives by seeing others within the framework of those non-basketball essentials. So on the court they behave as if all that matters are the limited, psychologically restrictive categories they assign to themselves and others.

When they feel they fit more boxes than the next person, they feel superior, privileged and entitled. They also think that we should think like they think.

But We Don’t!

We just want them to shut up and dribble, pass, shoot and hopefully score. When we find people who do that we come to the game.

Straight Basketball Players Are People Too

If WNBA team owners were in the thoroughbred horse racing business, they would not allow their prized equine athletes to receive the treatment Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham have endured – unless the owners were part of some off-court behind the-scenes system rigged to ensure there are certain winners and losers.

In the WOKE human drama of the WNBA, however, athleticism is not the highest metric by which the internal power brokers of the league seem to assess and value people. The number of DEI boxes to which they can be allocated is.

My Ten Commandments Values System Assessment

The Bible advocates for treating all men and women equally within the sexual categories in which they have been born. John 3:16 says, “Whosoever believes” obtains eternal life. Rom 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” My assessment of the WNBA is it operates under a different value system, which communicates that if you live out certain types of sin, you are privileged and more entitled than others.

I categorically disagree!

You are not a hero because you chose to have a certain type of sex!

If you feel self-satisfied and validated in your life style choice, go live your life and let other people alone. If, however, you feel your choices and preferences make you a “victim” then you have a chip on your shoulder and develop[resentments, and begin seeing slights where there are none.

The challenge with those who are ghosted by their own feelings, is sooner of later they act on them. Once their viewpoints spillover into behaviors that violate the Ten Commandments against others, we-the-people have an obligation to respond to ensure we and the public are treated according to them, and not the metric of some other value system.

Instead of going about her business of basketball and playing within its rules, Djonai and the co-conspirators who make up the ruling class of the WNBA, have chosen flagrant violations of our Ten Commandments rights to not be assaulted by clotheslines, body blocks, elbows to the face and eye gouges — all of which are reckless and evil attempts to murder the skill and playing ability of the athletes, who deserve to have careers unimpeded and not cut short by intentionally inflicted violence! The DEI lens through which the unenlightened self-righteous view life, however, makes them feel justified in perpetrating these behaviors against Caitlin and Sophie, who seem to be targeted and excluded from the “Equal Protection Under The Law” by which we all expect to live and play and watch basketball.

The ultimate reason real life consequences, as established by the rules of the game, should be enforced is because failing to do so gives one a false sense of security regarding what he or she will face at God’s judgment. If we model that responsibility now, our behavior has more of an opportunity to become more consistent with the reality that 2+2=4. Truth, and the consequences that result from not living within it, tutor us that we are exempted from having to own up to our sin, and the need to repent of it and avoid the eternal consequences it appears this bunch of DEI advocates may be bumping up against. If so, then from my perspective and opinion, they have a lot more to lose than fans and sneaker deals.
